Dear friends, The immense suffering that Jesus bore as he gave his life for us is central to the Christian faith. As foretold by prophets in the Old Testament, the Messiah came to free humanity from sin through his sacrifice. Though sinless, Jesus endured pain, betrayal, and death out of his boundless compassion and desire to reconcile us with God.
When we reflect on Christ’s passion, we gain insight into the weight of sin and God’s unwavering love for his creation. Jesus asked the Father if this cup could pass from him and struggled intensely in the garden of Gethsemane, giving us a glimpse into the magnitude of what he was about to undertake on the cross at Calvary. Though divine, Jesus was also fully human and dreaded the agony ahead. Still, he submitted himself entirely to God’s purposes out of love.
As Jesus hung suffering on the cross, he fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy that “by his stripes we are healed.” His resurrection conquered sin and death forever. When we put our faith in Christ’s once-for-all atoning sacrifice, we receive regeneration, restoration, and the promise of eternal life with God.
Dear friends now let’s see the Bible scriptures below that talk about Jesus suffering for our sins.
