Dear friends, When we face troubles that seem too heavy to bear, we can call out to our compassionate Father in heaven. He promises to be near the brokenhearted, to rescue those who seek refuge in Him, and to answer when we pray to Him in faith.
Just as a loving parent responds when their child cries out in distress, so God inclines His ear to us in our time of need. Scripture gives many examples of faithful believers who called upon the Lord in desperate situations – whether trapped in slavery, thrown into the sea, or surrounded by enemies on the battlefield. Though their trials continued for a season, they each received strength, deliverance and comfort as they waited on the Lord.
We too can have confidence that when we cry out sincerely to our Almighty God, He hears and acts. He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He will sustain us. He sends His Holy Spirit to counsel and console us in our weeping. And He reassures us that though sorrow may last for the night, joy comes in the morning light.
No matter what storms we face in this life, we can always cry out to the One who calms winds and waves with a word. He will answer from heaven, the place of His dwelling, when we humbly call upon His name. Our glorious Lord upholds us with His righteous right hand so that we will not be shaken.
Dear friends, now let’s explore what the Bible says about crying out to God for help.
