Dear friends, the Bible encourages us to make every effort to live at peace with others and resolve disputes through wisdom and grace.

Scripture warns against dragging conflicts into court before unbelievers. Lawsuits often breed more animosity. Even winning a case can leave lingering resentment.

Jesus taught that if someone takes you to court over a trivial matter, it is better to settle by making concessions. This displays love and a spirit of reconciliation. It can even make a positive witness to those outside the faith.

Biblical figures like Joseph and Abigail turned conflict into blessing through exceptional forgiveness and restraint. They chose peaceful solutions over legal justice.

Of course, there are times when laws must be upheld or justice pursued. But even then, the manner in which believers conduct themselves is vital. Scripture says “Do not take revenge…but leave room for God’s wrath.”

In disagreements, we can follow the Bible’s advice to speak truthfully but gently, without anger or quarrelling. Seek experienced counsel from church leaders. Approach disputes impartially, willing to see from the other perspective.

Most importantly, bathe the situation in prayer rather than retaliation. Trust God to vindicate you if necessary. He knows the full truth and will make all wrongs right in His perfect timing.
