Dear friends, When clouds of depression descend, it can feel impossible to find the light. Dark thoughts and feelings of worthlessness can overwhelm even the strongest of hearts.
Yet in these times of despair, know you are not alone. For the saints of old also walked through the valley of shadows. David wrote of how his soul was downcast and disturbed. Elijah hid in a cave, depleted of all hope. Job suffered wave after wave of torment and anguish.
Even Jesus, our perfect Savior, bore the weight of the world’s sin and grief. He too wept. He too cried out. For Jesus was fully man as well as fully God, and fully acquainted with human sorrow.
So take comfort, dear friend. Turn to the God who understands your pain. Pour out your heart to Him who shed tears in the Garden of Gethsemane. Allow His presence to surround you with reminders of your worth and value.
Though the battle is wearying, you need not struggle alone. God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. He will lift you up, revive your spirit, and reveal purpose in your suffering. You need only ask, and He will draw near.
Dear friends, now let’s see the Bible scriptures below that talk about “When You Are Depressed.”
